NAKED at Mayfair Mall!!!
Ok, now that I have your attention, its not really naked....only half naked....and it's not even people their bitching about, it's mannequins.
I know this shouldn't suprise me but it still does. It seems that a couple of Wauwatosa residents, Stan and Betty Zurawski, find the mannequins in Victoria's Secret window offensive in their lingerie. I guess they show too much skin....er...fiberglass.
Quoted in the JS as saying "I would hope people would see that this isn't what we want here," said Zurawski, who made an unsuccessful bid for Wauwatosa mayor in 2000. "I'm not a prude, but I find this offensive."
The couple, members of the group Tosans for Responsible Government, says they want Mayfair Mall to prohibit stores from displaying or selling "offensive" items - from thongs at Victoria's Secret to sex toys at Spencer Gifts and T-shirts critical of President Bush.
I guess they get to decide what's offensive for all of us? Who would have thought a lingerie store would have mannequins dressed in lingerie in their store window....?? I don't really consider half naked fiberglass dummies to be that erotic...hell, if they were I would be at Mayfair right now!
You know what offends me?? These self righteous, better than you puritans, who have nothing better to do with their boring little lives than act like they know whats best for everyone and try and regulate what we all are exposed to because they don't like seeing a pair of panties on a damn mannequin. Since your offensive to me does that mean we can rid you from society so everyone isn't exposed to your bullshit?
How about only trying to control you own damn life and shop somewhere else if the naughty underwear scares you so damn much. If the t-shirts with the anti Bush slogans are so terrible for ya, don't shop their either!!
You have the freedom to shop or not shop anywhere you want......and so do I untill assholes like you try and infringe on my rights.
